Bodhgaya Tour

Destination : Delhi - Lucknow - Sravasti – Lumbini - Kusinagar - Vaishali
- Patna - Nalanda - Rajgir - Bodhgaya - Varanasi - Delhi.
Day 1 :Delhi - Lucknow (By Train) - Sravasti (200 KM 4 hrs)
Early morning Train for Lucknow (Jan satbdi). Pickup from railway
station and drive to Sravasti. Check-in to hotel. Dinner and night stay at
Hotel in Sravasti.
Day 2 : Sravasti- Lumbini
(225 KM, 5hrs)
After breakfast, we proceed to visit Saheth
(Jetvanaram) & Maheth (Angulimal Caves). Lunch en route. Latter
drive to Lumbini. Kindly obtain double entry visa for India & single
entry visa for Nepal). On arrival, check in at hotel. Dinner and night stay at
Hotel.
Day 3 : Lumbini- Kusinagar
(180 KM, 4 hrs)
After breakfast , we will visit Holy Birth place of Lord Buddha.
Lunch en route . Latter drive to Kusinagar. Dinner and night stay at
Hotel Kusinagar.
Day 4 : Kusinagar- Vaishali
( 250 KM, 5 hrs)- Patna ( 50 KM, 1 hrs)
After Breakfast, drive to Vaishali. Later visit Mahaparinirvana
Temple (where Buddha took his last breathe) and Rambhar Stupa (cremation
site of lord Buddha) and Japan Temple . Lunch en route Drive to Patna.
Dinner and night stay in Patna.
Day 5 : Patna-Nalanda (100 KM, 2 hrs)-Rajgir(15 KM,
0.5hrs)-Bodhgaya (70 KM,2hrs)
After breakfast, depart proceed to Nalanda. Spread over 14 hectares, the
Nalanda University Ruins Archaeological Complex is set amidst expansive lawns
which offset the spectacular layout and carvings of this ancient university.
The monasteries and the viharas are separated by a central valley. Interesting
structures to look out for include: steps leading up to perhaps a dais for
professors and stupas with images of the Buddha carved in. According to the
Chinese traveler Xuan Zang who also taught at the university during 685 and 762
AD, 10,000 monks and professors resided here at the time. After the walk around
the ruins, visit the Xuan Zang Memorial Hall, a Chinese pagoda built by Chinese
Buddhists.
Latter drive for Rajgir, the capital of the Magadha kingdom and is a pilgrimage
for Jains and Hindus as well. The Japanese Buddhists have built the massive
Vishwashanti Stupa on the Ratnagiri Hill which can be accessed by a chairlift.
The stupa has statues of Buddha at the four stages of his life - birth,
enlightenment, teaching and death. From the hill top, the Jain shrines can also
be viewed, scattered across 26 distant hills. Griddhakuta, located on Ratnagiri
Hill is another site where Budhha stopped by to preach. Lunch en route and
proceed to Bodhgaya. Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel in Bodhgaya.
Day 6 : Bodhgaya- Local- Dungeshwari Caves- Gaya(12
KM) – Bodhgaya
After breakfast, we drive to visit Lord Buddha Temple. Visit other
sightseeing places Sita Kund, Janki temple, Bodhi Tree. Come back for lunch.
Latter we drive to Gaya (12 Kms).En-route vist Dungeshwari cave temples are
also known as the Mahakala caves located 12 kms northeast of Bodhgaya. Lord
Budha underwent years of penance here before he descended to Bodhgaya. A path
across the river and up to the temples is 9km from Bodhgaya on the road to
Gaya. There are three main caves containing Hindu and Buddhist shrines. Latter
Visit Vishnu Temples or Vishnupad Temple is sacred among Hindus and is
dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Back to Bodhgaya. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel
in Bodhgaya.

Day 7 : Bodhgaya - Varanasi (300 KM 6
hr)- Ganga Arti
After Breakfast transfer to Varanasi. Check-in to Hotel and have lunch
in hotel.
At evening, get ready to experience one of the most memorable moments of your
life, as you will be taken for a boat ride on the River Ganges. Enjoy Ganga
Aarti. Get a glimpse of the spiritualism at the Ganga Ghats (river front).Night
stay at Hotel in Varanasi .

Day 8 : Varanasi Morning Boat
ride – Sarnath
Early morning, we will be taken for a boat ride on the Ganges. It is a
mystical and spiritual experience as you watch people offering water to the Sun
God and devotees taking holy dip in the Ganges. Experience the different ghats
of varanasi. Each ghats has his own history and Hinduism value.
Latter visit some temples on the Ghats, followed by the the Kashi
Vishwanath Temple - one of the famous Hindu temple and is dedicated to
Lord Shiva, where at least once in life a Hindu is expected to do pilgrimage,
Anpurna Temple, Bharat Mata Mandir. These are optional, if have time and
interest. Come back to hotel for breakfast
After breakfast, we will be taken for an excursion to Sarnath. Sarnath is the
place where Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples. The
attractions at Sarnath are the Buddha temples, the Dhamekha stupa,
Chaukhandi stupa and the archaeological museum.

Day 9 : Varanasi – Drop to Airport/ Railway Station
for Delhi

station/ Airport with pleasant memory of holy trip.
